I can welcome you at the airport of your choice and then make all reservations (lodging, meals, breakfast and transfer toward the place of departure). The circuit can be rearranged according to your wishes. In all cases, a descriptive estimate will be sent to you before booking. Vol Paris-Bamako

J1 - MOPTI - SANGHA*

Mopti : Registration to the office of tourisme.
Visit of the city. Departure for Sangha via Bandiagara, with picnic or lunch according to the time.

  • Built on three islands connected by dikes, Mopti is the country’s major route intersection. Peoples from many groups call Mopti home, including the Bambara, Songhai, Fula, Tuaregs (and their former slave – the Bellasha), Moors, Bozos, and Dogon. Once a Bozo fishing village, it has the largest river port in what was the French Sudan and now has about 100,000 people. Pirogues and their larger counterparts, pinasses, carry goods up and down the Bani/Niger River. Transport is even possible to Timbuktu during and after the rainy season.

Sangha : Visit of the city. Dînner restaurant. Night to hotel.

Piroguier à Ségou

J2 - SANGHA - BANANIBelle vue sur les alentours.

Sangha : Breakfast.
Departure on foot (possibility to take the car) for Banani.

Banani : Lunch and nap. Visit the village hanging from the cliff, with narrow streets winding between the houses.
Dinner and night under the stars.

J3 - BANANI - IRELI - SANGHA

Banani : Breakfast. Built on the cliff, Banani is one of the most spectacular sites in the Dogon country. Departure (on foot) for Ireli.

Ireli : Probably one of the most beautiful villages in the region with its semi-troglodytes and its many neighborhoods around the tight toguna.
Visit of the village.

Sangha : Lunch. Visits.
Dînner restaurant. Night to hotel.

J4 - SANGHA - BANDIAGARA - MOPTI

Sangha : Breakfast and return toward Mopti.

  • Sanga is the biggest village on the escarpment. The people are very used to the sight of tourists. It is best to visit on market days, check in advance since they have a five day schedule. From Sanga you can easily visit a few villages in the neighbourhood: Bongo, Banani, Ireli (for this choose another circuit or contact us).

Bandiagara : Lunch. Visits.

  • This dusty village is the gateway to the Bandiagara Escarpment a rocky cliff 125 mi/200 km long that provides shelter to the fascinating Dogon people. The Dogon built a string of villages along the ridge and up high into the face of the cliff that can be seen on one-to eight-day hikes. Dogon's culture is an unique religious ceremonies with fabulous masks and hypnotic dances who has changed little over the centuries.

Mopti : Visits (Mopti is the venice Malian with its large river port on the Niger Delta of Niger).

*NB : The circuit Sangha in Sangha is on walking  !
